Letters, 1861.

These letters were written July 11 and August 20, 1861, from Camp Boone, Tennessee, to a friend, Harry Perkins, and to Campbell's sister. They describe camp life and Campbell's responsibilities as a member of the 2nd Regiment, kentucky Infantry Volunteers and as an officer of the Commissary Department for the Kentucky Brigade. Camp activities, sickness, and unit strength are discussed.
